Lou McElwain
Lou has over 40 years of experience in sales and marketing in the technology and telecommunications industries, primarily business-to-business (“B2B”) technologies. He held many different leadership and senior executive roles across sales, marketing, channels, and consulting, covering both US and global geographies with six technology and telecommunications companies offering high-tech services and products. These companies include IBM, Cisco Systems, and a tech startup, BlueWater, which was acquired by a private equity firm and became part of the Presidio portfolio. Lou sold or directed sales and marketing for a wide range of high-tech products, including complex data centers, data storage and retrieval, security, wireless, call centers, high-speed optical, voice, wireless, and bespoke data solutions.
In his many senior executive roles, he built thriving sales organizations for fast-growth companies (Cisco), inside established companies (IBM), and start-up companies (BlueWater, CLI). His efforts in leading sales and marketing teams, regions, and divisions enabled these organizations to achieve and exceed their sales and growth goals, which often amounted to billions of dollars in sales annually. He has led teams of 800+ people to sell to and support customer accounts of all sizes, including small/medium, national, and global.
