DroneMDsm (Medical Delivery) Service

CityDroneZ has a Service Mark Application pending with the US Patent & Trademark Office for DroneMDsm(Medical Delivery).

CityDroneZ is starting discussions with potential hospital system partners in Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk Counties (the TriCounty Region)  about using drones, rather than motor vehicles, to deliver “droneable medical materials” defined as those non-hazardous items weighing 8 pounds or less, including Artificial External Defibrillators (AEDs), Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs), Narcan, durable medical equipment (i.e. first aid supplies, small orthotics), medicines, pharmaceuticals for consumers, vaccines, blood, urine, drug testing kits, chemotherapy formulations, medical instruments, documents, etal.

There have been minimal drone deliveries of medical materials across the United States. Still, virtually none of these have been “true” Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, or fully autonomous drone operations, since one pilot operates each delivery or a handful of deliveries simultaneously.  Full drone autonomy with one pilot supervising dozens or hundreds of drones is the only way to drive down delivery costs.

The McKinsey Center for Future Mobility produced a research article in January 2023 estimating that drone delivery costs could be as low as $1.50 to $2 per package.

Our research on the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for Droneable medical deliveries is over 3 million packages annually for Westchester County. We believe that TOTAL “Droneable” non-medical delivery packages, including Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) food deliveries, are over 30 million packages annually.

Walmart is now conducting thousands of BVLOS drone deliveries across five states, mainly in the Southeast. These are not yet fully autonomous and have a range of 5 miles or less from some of their SuperCenters.

Our ongoing research on the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for Droneable medical deliveries is over 3 million packages annually for Westchester County. We believe the total “droneable” market for non-medical delivery packages, including Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) food deliveries, exceeds 30 million packages.
